Green Building Law Update is published to inform the construction and design industries about green building risks and legal developments. Launched in 2008, the website has served as a forum to discuss green building litigation, regulations, policy and trends.

Chris Cheatham
Chris is a construction attorney in Washington D.C. and a principal at the Law Office of Christopher W. Cheatham LLP. He has worked at some of the largest law firms in the country for some of the biggest companies in the world and he will apply this experience to represent you.
Chris is a LEED Accredited Professional and has advised numerous companies regarding green building and renewable energy risks and contracts. He is also a frequent speaker for private companies, public agencies, associations and groups on the topic of green building risk mitigation.
His legal career began at Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzgerald, LLP, one of the top-ranked construction law firms in the nation. While at WTHF, Chris worked with a contractors and sureties to resurrect a request for equitable adjustment against the Army Corps of Engineers that was unresolved by two previous law firms. Chris managed numerous experts and re-drafted the claim, which ultimately resulted in a verdict of more than $10 million. Chris was also involved with other complex construction cases; for example, he was one of the first attorneys to analyze levee breaches and liabilities resulting from Hurricane Katrina.
Chris continued his legal career at Crowell & Moring LLP, in what is widely regarded as the top government contracts practice in the country. At Crowell, he continued to prepare large international construction claims against the federal government, while also representing clients in other government contract issues involving labor, false claims, the Anti-Kickback Act, and cost accounting.

Kirk Dryer
Kirk Dryer is an intern at Green Building Law Update. His primary interests are sustainable real estate development and green building codes.
Kirk is a third year law student at the University of Missouri School of Law in Columbia, Missouri. He is an Associate Member of the Missouri Law Review and serves as the President and Co-founder of the MU Real Estate Law Society. In 2009, Kirk graduated from Vanderbilt University in Nashville, Tennessee. While at Vanderbilt, Kirk worked as a student intern for the Department of Campus Planning and Construction and helped to earn LEED certification for several campus construction projects.
This past summer Kirk interned with the Mayor's Office of Environment and Sustainability in Nashville and he is currently studying for his LEED accreditation exam.
